– Would you like to save a few dollars on your property taxes?
– Would you like to protect your home from a forced sale to satisfy non-mortgage creditors?
-Would you like to ensure your spouse has a place to live in the event of your death?
The Oklahoma Homestead Exemption provides for all three of these scenarios. Filing a simple form with your tax assessor can save you between $50 and $150 per year on your tax bill, protect your home from seizure and sale by creditors, and in the event of a death, the surviving spouse will have the right to remain in the home.
